The South Coast Medical Forum concept was developed by two specialist doctors, Dr Smita Agarwal, a comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Dr Peter Chin, a Urologist, both based in Wollongong. The idea behind the concept was to bring an annual, multi-speciality education event to the South Coast (of NSW) medical community. The alternative in the past for them has been to travel up to Sydney or elsewhere. This concept was readily supported by Dr Carl Mahfouz and Prof Ian Wilson of Graduate Medicine, University of Wollongong.
In 2016 the South Coast Medical Forum brought 7 specialists together to present a hugely successful forum for the local medical community. Building on that, we are proud to present the 2nd Annual South Coast Medical Forum.
This year, we are focusing on the key issues that the GPs are facing, with talks on:
Bariatric/Obesity, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, ENT, Gastroenterology, Gynaecology, Mental Health, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Paediatrics and Urology. As all attending GPs will be entitled to claim up to 12 Category 2 CPD Points, this is just another reason why GPs should mark this event and make it a point to attend.
