A/Prof Reyftmann has completed his medical, specialist, and subspecialist training in reproductive medicine at the Montpellier University Hospital, France. Upon arriving in Australia in 2010, he took a position at the Sydney Women’s Endosurgery Centre as a research fellow in advanced laparoscopic surgery and was elevated fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2011. In 2012, he joined GENEA (formerly known as Sydney IVF), one of the most prestigious Australian IVF units. Since 2015, he is academic leader of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the Graduate School of Medicine of the University of Wollongong.
A/Prof Reyftmann has authored or co-authored more than 30 papers, encompassing such topics as natural IVF for poor responders, prenatal genetic diagnosis PGD, endometriosis, laparoscopy and lifestyle factors related to infertility. He has a particular interest in the management of endometriosis and reproductive surgery. He is pioneering the concept of trans vaginal hydro laparoscopy (Fertiloscopy) in Australia and has devoted his practice to infertility and IVF since 2017, taking the lead of the GENEA Illawarra unit.
