ABOUT SOUTH COAST MEDICAL FORUM

The South Coast of NSW has a vibrant community that is well supported by a number of experienced and highly qualified general practitioners and other medical practitioners. At SCMF, our focus is to bring efficiencies and more expertise to the health system. Given that, there has always been a strong need for everyone in the medical community to have access to the best possible health education on the latest advancements in medicine.

Dr Andrew Malouf

Dr Andrew Malouf completed extensive post fellowship training across the UK in both England and Scotland including a Colorectal surgical Fellowship at St Marks. During his time at St Marks Hospital, Dr Malouf ran both the Anorectal Physiology lab and the Incontinence clinic for 3 year. He has extensively published in numerous peer reviewed journals on pelvic floor disorders, rectal prolapse, colorectal malignancy and contributed heavily to junior doctors training schemes.

A/Prof Smita Agarwal

Associate Professor Smita Agarwal is one of the co-founders of South Coast Medical Forum. She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and is the Head of Ophthalmology Department at Wollongong and Shellharbour Public Hospitals. She is an Associate Professor at the Graduate Medicine, University of Wollongong.

Dr Elizabeth Dally

Dr Dally graduated from Newcastle University with a Bachelor of Medicine then went on to Macquarie University and acquired a Master's Degree in Advanced Surgery/Uro-Oncology. She has A Post Graduate Diploma in Epidemiology and a Diploma in Child Health from Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick where she holds a hospital position in Paediatric Urology.

A/Prof Peter Chin is also a co-founder of South Coast Medical Forum. He is a Urologist at South Coast Urology in Wollongong.

Dr Carol Ting

Dr Carol Ting graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1994 with the Ryan Medal in Surgery. She has been a Consultant Endocrinologist since 2003. She was previously a Visiting Medical Officer at Westmead Hospital and The Bone & Calcium Clinic, St Vincent's Hospital.

Prof Stuart MacKay

Prof MacKay offers general adult and paediatric ear, nose, throat and head and neck assessment and surgical services. He completed his medical degree at the University of NSW in 1998, graduating with honours. His Fellowship in Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery was completed in 2006. In 2007 he completed a Fellowship in Airway Reconstruction Surgery for Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea. This Fellowship also involved further training in Head and Neck and Laryngology (Voice).

Dr Adrian Sjarif

Dr Adrian Sjarif is a fully qualified Specialist Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon with dual fellowship training from both Australia and the United States. Dr Sjarif graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor’s degree in Anatomical Science then went on to obtain an honours degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Sydney in 2003.

Prof Astin Lee

Professor Astin Lee is a consultant and interventional cardiologist. Prof. Lee graduated from the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1997. He is currently the Director of Cardiology at Wollongong and Shellharbour Hospitals as well as the Head of Cardiac Services at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

Dr Gideon Sandler

Dr Gideon Sandler graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2002 and completed training in Adult General Surgery in 2013 and Paediatric General Surgery in 2015 through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Further training included Adult Surgical Oncology and Head & Neck Surgery at Westmead Hospital in 2016/17 and Paediatric Surgical Oncology and Head & Neck Surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Centre and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, Texas in 2017/18.

Dr Pip Gale is a local female Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. She graduated from University of Tasmania in 2004 and completed her fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in NSW, with most of her training completed at Wollongong Hospital. She has ten years' experience working in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and has a special interest in general obstetrics, utero vaginal prolapse surgery.
